2010 Missouri Grade State Championship

Where: University of Missouri at Memorial Union 518 Hitt St, Columbia, MO 65201Directions   www.google.com has great driving directions also. Building Information Link
 
Directions: For driving directions, local hotels, parking lot and food locations, please visit the university website at http://www.missouri.edu. Click on the visitors tab. Parking is free on the weekends.
 
Sections: 13 Sections – Each Grade Level is a Section. Players only play against players from the same grade. A Missouri State Individual and Team Champion for each grade will be crowned!
 
Onsite Registration: 9:00AM – 9:30 AM   Check-in from 9AM-9:30. Please be at the site by 9:30
 
Rounds and Time Control: Grades K-6 will be five rounds Game 20. Grades 7-12 will be five rounds G30. No Time Delay.
 
Round Times: 1st Round - 10AM. 
       
Free Parking: University Avenue Garage is the best place for everyone to park.
The garage is located on University Avenue between Hitt Street and College Avenue. There is no charge for weekend parking.

Team Rooms Available: Please contact Ken Fee 816-446-3550 to reserve. Prices are $150-$200.
 
Award Ceremony: Approximately 3:30PM. The K-6 award ceremony will start as soon as the K-6 section is finished.
 
Entry Fee:
$20.00 per player registered online by October 1st, 2010
$25.00 per player registered online by October 8th , 2010   
$30.00 (On Site.) Make checks out to Kenneth Fee.
 
If you pre-register, you DO NOT have to be at the site until 9:00-9:30 for check-in and for pairings. All players who pre-register will be PAIRED for round one.
 
Ratings: We will use USCF ratings although the tournament is not USCF rated. If you do not have an USCF we will use MyChessRating.com ratings. We will assign you a rating based on your grade: 5th plus 200 points. For example, a 5th grader will be rated 700. The maximum rating for a non-rated player will be 800.

Trophies and Medals: First place trophies for the Missouri State Champion in each of the thirteen grade levels will be awarded. Medals will be awarded to 2nd –10th place in each of the thirteen grade levels. Every player receives a participation ribbon! First Place Team Trophies for each grade (three players per team with a two player minimum). Players and teams tied for first place will be considered Missouri State Co-Champions. Out-of-State Players are welcome and play for book prizes.
