Liberty Kids Chess League

When: Thursdays from 6:30 - 8:00PM - 6 Weeks

Who: All kids from grades Kindergarten to 12th Grade can play.

Where: Liberty Community Center, 1600 S. Withers Rd. Liberty, MO 64068  Located East Right Off Exit 16 on I-35    Liberty Community Center Homepage .

Spring 2010 League Dates: March 25th, April 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th.

Summer 2010 League Dates:

Session One: Session  One - June 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th  July 1st , and 8th.   

Session Two: Session Two – July 15th, 22nd, 29th. August 5th, 12th, and 19th   . 

Three Sections: (depending on number of entries; may combine sections) 1.K-12 Section 2. K-6 Section 3. K-3rd Section.

Activities: Chess Lesson from 6:30-7:00 by expert chess teacher, Ken Fee. Chess Tournament - 7:00 to 7:30 one league game per week. Free play from 7:30-8:00

We will also have a parent coaches tournament!

Resident Entry Fee: $30.00 for six weeks. Non-Resident Entry Fee: $40.00 six weeks

Each player will have a www.mychessrating.com page with his/her tournament results and graphs.

Awards: Chess Medals for top 10 players in each section.

League Schedule: There are 6 leagues per year. Each league is six weeks.

Private and Semi-Private Chess Lessons

Would you like to learn chess or become a better player? Expert chess instructor Ken Fee will help you work on openings, tactics, strategy, and the general etiquette of playing chess. Lessons will be conducted at the Liberty Community Center during open recreational hours. All levels of players are welcome. Private one on one and semi-private (minimum two players) are available.

Fees:

Private: $85 resident/$95 non-resident.

Semi-Private: $55 resident/$65 non-resident per person.

Times: Four 30 minute lessons
