The 2018 Midwest Junior Championship

Saturday March 31st, 2018

Who: All kids in grades Kindergarten to 12th grade can play.

Midwest Junior Bughouse Championship Registration at 9AM on site or online. Round one begins at 10AM.

Rounds: Four Rounds.Time Control : G5. Sections: Cost: $15 per player online. $20 onsite. $10 if playing in main event. If you do not have a bughouse partner, we will find you one! Awards: 1st-3rd Place Trophies each section!

Onsite Registration: 9:00AM – 9:30 AM   Check-in at 9:30. Please be at the site by 9:30

Make sure to pre-register online to guarantee your bughouse partner. NO GUARANTEE oniste.

Main Event - 11:30AM

Sections: K-3/K-6/K-12 Sections. A Midwest Individual Champion will be awarded for each grade. A Midwest Team Champion will be awarded for each section.

Entry Fee: $25.00 per player registered online by March 28th, 2018. $35.00 (On Site.) Make checks out to The Kansas City Chess Club LLC.

Rounds and Time Control: Four rounds Game 15. No Time Delay. No elimination. 1st Round - 11:30AM. Award Ceremony: Approximately 2:00PM.

If you pre-register, you DO NOT have to be at the site until 10:00 for check-in and for pairings. All players who pre-register will be PAIRED for round one.

Tournament Director: Kenneth Fee Entries: Send to Kenneth Fee 1537 Baker St. Liberty, MO 64068. Make checks out to Kansas City Chess Club LLC.

Trophies and Medals: 1st Place trophies for each grade. Medals will be awarded to all players who do not receive a trophy. Team Trophies 1st-3rd each section.(three players per team with a two player minimum). Players and teams tied for first place will be considered Midwest Champions. Club Teams are Welcome!

Chess Express Prizes: A Silver Coin for 1st Place each section thanks to Chess Express Ratings!

Equipment: Sets and Clocks will be provided! Books and equipment will be available on site for purchase.

Concession Stand Onsite: Food and drinks will be available throughout the tournament.


Parking: Parking is in the front of the school and in the back (off N. Holmes).  Walk up the back stairs off the back parking lot to get into the gym—the stairs come right up by the gym doors (chess tournament playing area).

Please do NOT park in Reserved Parking on the North side of the Gym which is reserved for school personnel.
