Where: Olathe Hy-Vee , 18101 West 119th Street, Olathe, KS 66061

When: Every Saturday 5:00–6:00PM
Who: All kids from grades Kindergarten to 12th Grade.
Lesson Focus: Players will learn about important rules, chess etiquette, strategy, openings, endgames, and tactics. Research says chess improves test scores on Math and Reading!
Chess Teacher: Your chess teacher will be nationally rated chess coach Ken Fee. Ken has played tournament chess for the last 40 years and coached numerous Missouri and Kansas State Chess Champions. Ken is also a nationally certified tournament director who runs the Kansas City Chess Club and teaches high school Communication Arts.
What is Included: 1. Saturday Night Chess School 2. One Wednesday Kid Tournament per month. 3.1 Private 30 minute Chess Lesson per month. 4. KC Chess Club T-Shirt for 1st time members. 4. Tournament chess set for 1st time members. 5. Free entry into special events like GM lectures and simuls.6. Attend any Kansas City Chess School during the week.
Activities: Chess Lessons, Tournaments, Bughouse, Puzzle Competitions! Every month with a 5th weekday, there will be a special Bughouse or Blitz Tournament with prizes!
Awards: Chess Books and Awards for all kids.
