Who: All kids in grades Kindergarten to 12th grade can play.
Where: St. James School, 309 S. Stewart Liberty, MO 64068 Right off Exit 16 on I-35.
Sections: K-2/K-6/K-12. A Midwest Individual and Team Champion for each section will be crowned!
Onsite Registration: 9:00AM – 9:30 AM Check-in at 9:30. Please be at the site by 9:30
Rounds and Time Control: Five rounds Game 30. No Time Delay. No elimination. The K-2 Section will be G20. Round Times: 1st Round - 10AM. Award Ceremony: Approximately 3:30PM. The K2 Section will have an award ceremony as soon as they finish!
Entry Fee: $20.00 per player registered online by February 15th, 2012. $25.00 per player registered online by February 28th, 2012. $30.00 (On Site.) Make checks out to Kansas City Chess Club LLC.
If you pre-register, you DO NOT have to be at the site until 9:30 for check-in and for pairings. All players who pre-register will be PAIRED for round one.
Ratings: We will use USCF ratings although the tournament is not USCF rated. We will assign you a rating based on your grade: 5th plus 200 points. For example, a 5th grader will be rated 700. The maximum rating for a non-rated player will be 800.

Trophies and Medals: 1st-5th place trophies for each section. Medals will be awarded to all players who do not receive a trophy. Team Trophies 1st- each section (three players per team with a two player minimum). Players and teams tied for first place will be considered Midwest Champions.
Equipment: Sets will be provided! Please bring clocks. Books and equipment will be available on site for purchase. Concession Stand Onsite: Food and drinks will be available throughout the tournament.
